To be able to use the Moranbah BMX track you need to be a member of BMX Australia and a registered Moranbah Club Member. This will ensure that you are covered by insurance in the case of an accident or injury.
It is a requirement of Moranbah BMX club that parents and caregivers of riders under 18 years attain Volunteer membership and also complete the Level 1 officials online course. Volunteer involvement is crucial for the running of race nights!
Go to BMX Australia Membership and attain a free volunteer license and then go through the Level 1 officials online course to be able to assist.
The official positions that are required for a Thursday night race night are as follows:
1 x gate starter - must have gate starting experience
2 x stagers - top and bottom stagers
2 x berms person - 1st and 2nd berm
1 x first aider - must have current first aid qualification
3 x lines people - for accurate scoring purposes
3 x canteen helpers - choose either to help during preparation or during serving time.
Even if you are new to the sport, the friendly committee and existing members can show you the ropes with regards to helping out on race nights. Don't be shy!
Without Volunteers there is no racing......
